Situated in Salford, Greater Manchester. The project offers accommodation for 4 adults with support needs, with 24 hours housing related support.
We care for adults who have been living with long term mental health issues for many years and require specialist help to set them on a pathway of recovery. We assign a key worker to each resident when they move into the project. Key workers make sure that each resident is keeping up with their care, is involved in life at the home and progressing well.
We focus on a plan which gives residents the tools they need to work towards better independence. Crucial to this is the element of choice; residents choose how they spend each day, have a say in planning menus and spend time out in the community. Our goal is to encourage people to become more independent, and work towards a point where they can live fulfilling lives in the community.
Most of our residents come to us straight from a stay on a psychiatric /forensic ward or from failed tenancies. The first step in the referral process is for the care co-ordinator, social worker or psychiatrist to contact us to discuss the service user’s needs and find out if we have a place available. If we feel we can provide the care and support that the individual needs, we invite them to visit us – the first visit will be just a few hours and this will build up to overnight stays.
